I am a scientist and science communicator with a passion for the natural world. I have a PhD in animal behaviour and have studied everything from how praying mantises deceive other animals with elaborate and colourful displays; to how ants shape ecosystems by dispersing plant seeds and insect eggs, and how spiders sing to each other through their webs. If you are after some light bedtime reading a full list of my scientific publications can be found here.
I am a science communicator and project manager for Animate Your Science, and have been the host and producer for the science podcasts In Situ Science, Curiosity Built the Boilerhouse, and Stories of STEM Q. I continue to share the wonders of science and nature with the world through my various art and storytelling projects.
